Why I Will Never Be A Vlogger
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. I am sorry that I have not posted anything in while, but life has been SO busy. I have also been incredibly ill for the last two weeks, which in turn, has slowed my progress down more. I am feeling a lot better now and I am raring to go!. Well, thats what I keep telling myself!.
Over the last few weeks I have been hammering away editing our recent visit to Florida. What I have realized looking over the footage is that I am not really in it that much. Now granted we did a LOT this holiday. Visiting Orlando Florida by going to all the Disney parks and some. There was a lot to film. There were a few bumps in the road when it came to documenting our trip. The main one being, me dropping my vlogging camera on the third day and breaking it!. Total disaster! Anyone who vlogs would have felt my pain. In true Hall fashion though, we ‘carry on’ and decided to use my phone as my camera, as it is just as good. I then proceeded to film two parks portrait style instead of landscape, which when editing, just leaves you with two big black gaps either side. Not really a big deal, but to my OCD it is not pleasing to the eye to watch. Through the holiday, I was so busy chatting to my family and having a great time, that I would forget to take the camera out and capture these moments. By the time I had remembered, I couldn’t be bothered relaying the whole conversation again for the sake of the camera. There is also this situation of when you are so busy looking through the camera, you miss what the experience really feels like looking through your own eyes as it were. Sounds weird I know, but to me there is a difference and can put a whole different slant on things. When you are on your own vlogging, it is a comfort, as you have someone or something to talk too. When you are with 5 other people it just becomes exhausting to keep up chatting away to a machine as well.
That all being said, I do enjoy watching back what happened on our holiday, and the camera picks up things that you did not notice at the time. It also helps to freeze in time my very quickly growing family. Each family holiday that goes by, my babies are getting bigger, and it is lovely to be able to look back and see how far they have come over the last year. We have been fortunate to visit Disney a couple times over the last few years and I was really surprised how now the children are older they responded so differently to the whole experience. Phoebe who is 12 wanted for the first time see all the characters and would use her 4 year old brother as her reason to see them “because he wanted to “. She would then push him up front when meeting the characters!. It was hilarious to watch and I enjoyed the whole experience. Leo who is 10 years old wanted to go on all the big rides and would then obsess, on how fast are they?, did they have any loops?. Until he finally went on them and would thoroughly enjoy every minute. Louis the youngest and his first time just thought everything was wonderful.
Family holidays really do bond you together, as you get to slow down from the fast pace of life and get to spend some real quality time together. It is wonderful to see this little humans that you have produced have opinions and to share fun and laughter with them. We really made some special memories with the children, that I’m sure we will never forget. That is what family time is all about and since coming back we have regularly shared funny moments around the breakfast table.
Although I find vlogging hard, there is so many benefits to it as well. I will keep learning on different editing techniques and it would be great to hear from you what parts you enjoy from our vlogs. I hope you enjoy seeing our experience of Orlando, Florida. See you on Monday with a New Post.
Have a great weekend

The Best Dry Shampoo To Date Bumble and bumble Pret-a-Powder Dry Shampoo
Re Styling 5 Items From My Winter Capsule Wardrobe
New Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo

Imagine the scene, 4 day old hair, you have pressed the snooze button for the second time- your now LATE! Normally in this situation I would reach for my trusty Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder and douse my hair in powder to absorb the grease. However, if you have ever used this product you will know that it really covers your hair in ALOT of white fine powder which for my hair (grey) thats fine, but if you are a red head or dark haired you really struggle to blend it in, wasting more time. Although, on the up side you will have hair higher and fuller than the queen of country singers -Dolly Parton.
Bumble and bumble continue to bring better and better products to help the modern woman or man to be at the forefront of their game. The release of two NEW Dry Shampoos are always welcomed with our busy lifestyles. First, is the Pret-a-powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo, this is specifically designed for Fine to Medium hair type. It contains French Pink Clay, which provides a softer approach to the hair, making it more suitable for sensitive, delicate scalps. It boasts healing and has a soothing effect, while it absorbs oil and sweat from roots to ends leaving the hair lightly scented, with no trace of white residue, HURRRAAHH! Finally a dry shampoo that does it all.

The next release is the Pret-a-Powder Tres (Nourishing) Invisible Dry Shampoo which is for medium to thick (wavy) hair. This has always been my beef when using dry shampoo, as it does the job of absorbing the oil at the root, but then makes your hair look matt and dry looking. This product doesn’t do this at all, because it contains Hibiscus extract which strengthens your hair, promotes hair growth, treats a dry itchy scalp, making thicker hair bouncier and provides a incredible shine. This one is right up my street and now takes pride of place on my bathroom shelf.

Do you use Dry Shampoos? Have you tried this product yet? I would highly recommend giving it a try it truly does exactly what it says on the bottle.

How To Do A Bullet Journal

With the start of the New Year, I always want to get myself organize for the forth coming year. Its helps me to plan and to look forward to all the events that will be coming up. My life would be more chaotic than normal, if I didn’t use some kind of planner. My phone is o.k, but it cannot substitute that feeling of a pad and pen. I just love ticking off ‘my TO Do list,’ such a satisfying feeling!. That’s why I took up a Bullet Journal. When I first heard about it last year, I thought that wouldn’t work for me as it looked really restrictive and some people bullet journals are so, beautiful . Then I thought, I dont have to do it like everyone else’s, I can do my book the way I want to. Hence why Todays video is a “How To” do a Bullet Journal. I show you my hints and tips on how to set up your very own Bullet Journal for 2018. Its not pretty, and its SUPER messy, but it is V. functional!.
I hope you enjoy.

New Beginnings

Round Up 2017
I thought it would be good to round up 2017. It has been a eventful year which I think most of us can testify too. The beginning of the year started off to a anxious start with a serious illness in my family. I dont talk much on here about my home life, but I do feel when it begins to spill into my work life its good to just clarify things. In contrast, My blog was really taking off and I felt I was finally being heard. If I’m honest though, I was not happy. Any Bloggers reading this will sympathize, It is hard work blogging if you want to do it professionally. I felt I was putting so much effort into keeping up to date with all social media, uploading videos, blog posts, working part time at our salon, oh yeah, and being a full time mum. I constantly felt overwhelmed and that I was giving only a little bit of myself to everything and that I was spreading myself so thinly, that I wasn’t succeeding in anything.
“We invest so much of our time into strangers liking or not liking the content we put out.”
It all came to ahead in February, when after a family holiday and I wanted to take a week off the internet. I came back feeling refreshed, revitalized, but only to find out that a week away, a lot had change!. My engagement had gone REALLY down!! Instagram algorithms had kicked in and you were penalized if you did not engage for a few days. All that effort I had been putting in, one week away and your pictures begin not to be as well received. How frustrating! This is a common theme in Social media world, it made me realize that if I dont slow things down, I would loose my sanity. We invest so much of our time into strangers liking or not liking the content we put out. I decided instead of keep moaning about it, to take decisive action. I chatted to my husband my concerns, and he really wanted me to join forces with him and put all my effort into our salon website/Social Media. I took three weeks off and worked on renaming all social media handles and redesigning our website. It made sense to join forces with my dearly beloved to help more with our salon workload as a team.

In March 2017 We re-launched as HallStyling. It made sense to collaborate, as my content had begin to visit different realms and Naybeautymua just didn’t fit with me anymore. Over the last few months, I have honed down our content to just twice a week, and I have varied our content from makeup and hair tutorials, to starting the Capsule Wardrobe series. Producing vlogs and outfit ideas to help share mine and Richards expertise.
Going forward, I will be introducing a more New series to our YouTube channel. I really enjoy making videos the most, and although it has a small growth, I feel I will always be a slow burner on YouTube. I believe over time it will grow. I just dont want to be a “cookie cutter” Youtuber producing content that appeal to masses to get the subscribers. I am aiming to do a chatty vlog style Monday Makeup, which I will upload on a Tuesday. It will be between 5-10 mins of me putting on my makeup and chatting about New products and how they are performing. I want to concentrate on putting out content thats not stuffy and over edited with lights and a soup-up camera, abit more casual approach. I will still be doing outfit posts as they do get the most views on our blog, but I will be looking at the more practical side of it. Outfit diaries, How to Style is what I am looking at more to produce this year. I want people to find our content helpful, yet entertaining.
I have come to terms that I will never be a successful blogger and I am o.k with that. I have seen first hand how much it costs trying to be at the top. I just cannot give that much of myself, I just do not think its balanced way of living. For me, my motto has always been, ‘I work to live’ and I want to be able to balance everything I would like to achieve. There is so much more to life than Work, work, work, but as long as I create content that I enjoy and that hopefully you guys enjoy, thats the only thing that matters.
