For me the hunt for the perfect Faux Fur Jacket has been going on for the last 3 years!! I know! But I just couldn’t find one that ticked all my boxes, and if there is one thing you should know about me, is that I am a very patient person. So imagine my surprise when Jacquard Flower (click on the link for her Awesome Blog) she featured on her blog this amazing Jacket from Kaleidoscope . It was instant attraction for me and then…… Life happened! Children were poorly, work was super busy, I was battling major sleep deprivation due to my toddler not sleeping, and in my haze the Jacket just slipped out of focus. Then one Saturday night, I was sat munching on Pringles, the Kaleidoscope advert appeared in between X Factor and this Jacket flashed up like a beacon of light. I quickly brought it up their website on my phone and basket it, paid it and then waited for it to arrive. The website was so easy to navigate and I could purchase with ease. Also if you opened a account with them you get a extra 25% off – Bonus!.

When the Zig Zag Faux Fur Jacket arrived I instantly popped it on. The Jacket is excellent quality with beautiful flashes of burnt orange mixed with the black,grey and tawny colours which only add to the luxurious feel of this Jacket . Its high collar lends itself to giving it a cool edge, and the length is ideal.

I teamed mine with black Skinny Levis 711, Chelsea Topshop Boots, Topshop Grey Ribbed Sweater,and Paul Costello Bag, just kept it basic. Since then I have been putting it with blue high waisted Jeans and Leatherette Leggings, my Adidas Stans Smiths and many others. Plenty of pieces to work with this Jacket.

Wardrobe Essentials-Jaegar Camel Coat

Hello Everyone doesn’t Monday come round quick! I hope you have had a lovely weekend and Im kicking off with a oldie but a goodie – The Camel Coat.

The Camel Coat joined my wardrobe family at the back end of last year. It was one of those purchases where I had seen a few ones that I liked but was just not willing to take the plunge, because of the price. Then low and behold this beauty flashed before me while I was steaming through our local T K Maxx, as you have to go through there to get to other stores in the shopping center, Clever eh?! I tried it on and instantly I felt the connection of what only a well made garment can give you, and I knew it was worth the price as it had been reduced by 75% – RESULT.

This coat is from Jaegar, and is so well made (of course!) and when I put it on, it just falls onto the right places and makes anything I put it with, just that little bit more special. The Colour is that right shade of camel, if you have seen many Camel coats, you will know that they vary in shade. This is the better shade and is so soft to the touch, yet still structure enough to hang well on the torso. Sadly, it is no longer available from T K Maxx, but is back in store for full price. Definitely worth the investment. I teamed mine for a classier look, with a white blouse from Matalan (old), a Leatherette Skirt from ASOS (last year) and a pair of court shoes from Carvela. Oh and not forgetting my friend Celine (Diamond Shoulder bag) who is very demanding, and easily rivals, if not stills the show from my camel coat.

Casual it up

My second look is a more laid back look, but just to show how versatile this coat is, that it just works on so many levels. I paired it with a oversized Grey wool jumper from HM, Topshop MOM High waisted Jeans, Adidas Stan Smiths and of course Celine Diamond Shoulder Bag. This is one look I wear on repeat as it it never fails to tick all the boxes for me in looking presentable, but on point!

Hello Everyone, How are we all doing this lovely Monday Morning? I thought I would kick off the week with my Wardrobe Essential- Blazers. A long time ago I wore Blazers as my outerwear always and then when I fell pregnant with my first child and I just lost my mojo because maternity back in 2005 was dyer. Maternity ranges have come on leaps and bounds since then, but at the time I remember my uniform was just Mothercare jeans and some hideous smock tops! I hated it and felt rubbish. Fast forward to now and of late my love for the Blazer has been well and truly re-ignited!.

The first one that has me in a tizz is the Herring Bone oversized Blazer from Zara. It fits in all the right places, but also has that masculine feel with it being oversized and as always with me it is so versatile! I have been wearing it with my Topshop Mom Jeans, boots, Adidas or Converse Trainers.

My second look is to show how a blazer can smarten up a outfit. This grey Longline Blazer has been on here before and was well received by you lovely lot. It really is a great piece to sling on with a smart pair of trousers or with a pair of jeans and all of a sudden you look put together with hardly any effort at all, that is always music to my ears!

My Old Faithful – The Leather Jacket

I thought I would start a series on my take of what is a wardrobe essential to me. First to kick things off is the old faithful- The Leather Jacket.

To me the Leather Jacket can be something of a icon statement piece or just blend into the background of a fierce outfit. No matter how rubbish you may be feeling that day, slipping on a Leather Jacket and a statement lipstick, you are then ready to take on the world so to speak!. My chosen Leather Jacket is the Bales piece from All Saints. I thought long and hard about this purchase, as for me its a lot of money to spend on myself with so many mouths to feed! If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that the last Leather Jacket I bought was over 18 years and was woefully in need of an up grade so I felt it was justified!.

I chose this style because all the others seemed a little bulky on my small frame and I did look like a mitchelin man wearing them!. The Bales is a soft Lamb Leather (sorry!) I know for some this does not sit well, but for me if I am going to eat it, I should not be fussy about wearing it. It is slim line and has a double buckle on the collar. It has zip details on the cuffs which really helps when you are wearing a thick hoody or knit underneath to allow some well needed ventilation!.

Don’t get me wrong, you can get some cracking faux Leather Jackets on the high street for a fraction of the price. Also for what I paid for one Jacket you could buy at least 3 good quality copies. For me, I am into this whole minimal, less in the Wardrobe, investing in quality pieces malarkey! So each to their own, but if you do decide to take the plunge, there is no better time than now, as All Saints are holding a Instagram Biker Portraits Campaign where if you upload your photo wearing one of their Biker Jackets,then you could be chosen as the face of their new campaign. Pointed Ballet Lace up Pumps

Hey Everyone as we are now finished with summer and you can really feel the air thinning in the UK. I am desperately trying to get the last of my wear with my Pointed Lace Up Ballet Pumps before they go into retirement for the Winter months. With Miu Miu bringing out their gorgeous ballet Pumps and Zara bringing out a fantastic lookie – likey they have never been so sought after.

I teamed my ballet Pumps, (which I bought in the sale from Zara in January this year) with a pair of crop camel culottes from River Island (old) Similar, Guipure Bib Front white blouse from Zara, my all time fave Black Leather Bales Jacket from All Saints and the sooo beautiful Amazona Loewe bag from Uncloset. In this soft Pastel Pink which is perfect for this season.

I have worn these to death, and to be fair they could do with a spit and polish before they go into hibernation. So with a heavy heart I will complete the task and put these babies to bed for another year.

Comfort Is The Word

Baggy Cargo Trousers

True to say I was that girl in the mid Nineties who wore the Combat pants with a vest, just like the British band All Saints were sporting at the time. Fast forward to now, the Combat Pants have been replaced by the Baggy Cargo Trouser. These babies are no different in style, although they have lost the embarrassing loops and strings that hung of the edges and looked like you belonged in a Zumba class. These Trousers are now taking centre stage and I for one, are loving the whole comfort theme to them.

For me not to add a classic shirt tucked in nicely would be a crime in itself. As the baggy cargo trouser can really take any style for dul-drum to da-d daa in five seconds. I love the versatility of this piece, where you can throw a pair of killer heels and glam it up or a pair of converse and take them straight back to comfort ville!.

I picked up these Baggy Cargo trousers from Zara a couple months back, and cant stop wearing them. I popped on a smart v neck shirt and pointed, lace up Pumps all from Zara. I think the Chloe Georgia bag from Uncloset, really makes the whole outfit a little more fancy and also keeps my essentials for the day to hand.

Summer is over boo!! Autumn is around the corner YAYEE. My favourite time of year hands down. I am soo over Summer and I am READY for Autumn. With that being said I have checked my wardrobe discarded any ruined items and looked at what I needed to help ease me into this new season.

Tie-Dye Accordion Pleated Skirt

A couple of weeks ago I welcomed to my wardrobe family this stunning Tie-Dye Accordion Pleated Skirt from Zara. This Mermaid wash Lace Skirt caught my eye while I was walking past Zara in Liverpool and it just spoke to me. I’m always a sucker for a good maxi skirt but the Autumnal colours and Lace combined, I thought it would be a great transitional piece.

The Dilemma

So here was my dilemma, its a glorious afternoon, the weather says it will rain for the next 4 days. I have 20 mins to take these photos as I have a hair appointment after, so my hair is tied up. I also couldn’t find my Charcoal V- top that I had bought to go with the skirt, which is more flattering for the fuller bust kinda of girl. Drat!! So I thought I would plough on regardless. I think the photos turned out o.k but not styled as I would of like, hey-ho cant have everything.

You could style it now with sandals or a pair Birkenstock’s for a relaxed day look. Add a pair of mules for nighttime or like I styled mine with Tan Chelsea boots from Wallis to show how they are perfect for Autumn and boy am I ready for it!!.
