Concealer is our coverage to signs of a late night whether that was painting the town red or you have been up since 2 A.M with a restless newborn. A good concealer, helps to hide and to put a veil of radiance when we have to carry on the next day. There are a lot of fantastic high end concealers out there but it is a hard to find a good drugstore/budget one. Things have changed and as always the Drugstore has really come into its own. I have being trying and testing my favourite Drugstore concealers. I hope you enjoy!

Top 5 Drugstore/Affordable Mascaras

As I sit down to write this blog, I have a rather large grin on my face as this is my favourite subject to speak about- MASCARAS. To say I have a little obsession about Mascaras is a big fat understatement! I decided to share My Top 5 Drugstore/Affordable Mascaras, as the Luxury ones have their place but there are so many good affordable ones out there, why spend so much!

My first one is Maybelline the Falsies Volume Mascara 7.99 such a cult classic, this must be my third one I am onto. I would say I have normal length lashes and thickness, it contains Keratin which builds and when I apply this it really gives volume and length. My lashes look remarkable like I am wearing a subtle flash lash. For the price point I would give it a whirl if you are in the market.

My second mascara is Maybelline Lash sensational 7.99. Another Maybelline but these guys just know how to make affordable products well. Our first Layer-Reveal Brush captures even the tiniest lashes and volumises the look of longer lashes for a layered, multiplied lash look. Now for me this Mascara is all about the brush it has layers to it so it captures even the tiniest lashes which helps to volumize and lengthen.

My Third Mascara is Max factor False Lash Effect 10.99. I stumbled across this at our local Boots. It was on offer and when something say ‘False Lash Effect’ I am hooked. The first thing you notice when you open the mascara is the smell. To say it smells a bit chemically is an understatement! If you can get past the smell and take a look at the brush head it has tiny little spikes that are small at one end and get longer and longer as it gets towards the end. This is a neat design because when you wiggle the brush at the root towards the tips it will coat every lash to give that fuller lash effect. This is another great formulation and brush combo that is something I have bought time and time again.

My fourth mascara is the L’ Oreal False Lash Telescopic 10.99. I think by now you can see a running theme, I LOVE False Lash Mascaras. It is because these particular formulation+brush head all seem to tick the right boxes. The brush head once again has these little spikes on. This head though is long and has a square, flatter edge to it. I found that this mascara did the same as the others but the longer brush just worked better for me as I have bigger eyes so that it covered more of my lashes than the Max Factor one. Once again the smell is a little offensive but to me it just a minor thing in my opinion.

My fifth and final mascara is Rimmel Accelerator Endless Mascara Growth Lash Complex 7.99. There is more to this mascara than meets the eye. The brush itself is different, Rimmel’s advanced ultra lengthening formula delivers up to 80% longer looking lashes instantly. Used daily over 30 days, our innovative Grow-Lash Complex helps to strengthen, renew and nourish lashes, promoting natural lash growth to create lashes that appear fuller, lusher and up to 117% longer. So this is what the mascara boasts it does and it DOES! I have noticed over the time of using this mascara that my lashes were slightly longer and suffered less breakage. The brush head is similar to Max Factor False Lash Effect but just a little longer. I use this mainly for my lower lashes as it grabs even the tiniest lash and will pop this on to strengthen my top lashes.
So there you go, My Five Favourite Drugstore/Affordable Mascaras. Have you tried any of these? Or do you have any other affordable mascaras that you think I might like to try? Please let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear from you.

My Beauty Staples for 2015

Hello and welcome back to my blog. I am pumped after having some well needed time off! That’s what I should be saying but I didn’t as we were frantically decorating and re-modernizing our New Hair Salon! It’s been an exciting couple of weeks but exhausting, I am now looking forward to getting back to some normality and do what I enjoy doing, chatting to you guys! I thought I would kick off January with what Beauty products have stayed in my Make-up bag and that I use regularly. So lets get on with it.
My Beauty Staples
My first Beauty staple is My Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette. I reviewed this back in May and I have used it everyday. I love the pigmentation of all the colours. I use the three lighter shades to set my highlighting and then contour with all three of the darker shades. It really is a super palette and well worth the price tag. It is a firm favourite for me and will be staying in my Make-up bag for Now!.

My second Beauty staple is my Loreal Infalliable foundation. I reviewed this back in July and have used it continuously since. I know there has been mixed reviews on this product and at times I did find it a little drying as it is a matt foundation, but I overcame this by putting a little highlighter cream or couple drops of facial oil, just to give the product a little workability. I feel this foundation gives such a nice cover for the price point and it has a nice feel to it, definitely worth a try.

My Third Beauty Staple is Maybelline Brow drama. I bought this back in June and I instantly found it to be a gem of a eyebrow product. It has been a firm favourite in my make up bag, and has taken a fair beating as you can see from the packaging! The colour is spot on. Normally the colours for blondes can be on the warm side, but most people are on the cooler side. I need not of fretted as this one has a great cool tone and works well in not only taming the brows but also giving them a little definition.

My Fourth Beauty Staple is another Maybelline product and that is the Master Precise liquid eyeliner. It took me weeks to get hold of this product as it was always sold out at my local Boots and Superdrug. Then a trip to Manchester City Centre and I was able to get my hands on this fantastic liner, I actually bought two so as not to run out anytime soon. The nib is super fine so you can easily achieve your winged liner. Also the durability and inkness is really good quality for the price point. If you are in the market for a liner, give this one ago.

My Fifth Beauty Staple is MAC Paint Pot in the shade Painterly. I use this everyday to prime my eyelids to help make them ready for shadow. I have quite blue veined and oily eyelids, so I really need a base to hide all this. This product has no problem doing this and leaves a smooth blank canvas for me to work on. It is a little pricey and I believe that Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo has something similar so that might be worth a try. With that all being said I still think it is well worth the money as I have had mine for at least 18 months and it is still going strong.

My Sixth and Seventh Beauty Staple is Illamasqua Pencil in Vow and Real Techniques Miracle Sponge. I will talk about the Illamasqua Eye Colouring Pencil in Vow. I use this pencil to line inside my water line when it is red from lack of sleep (joys of having three children). Its durability is brilliant and I love the creamy, pinky tone it has as it really makes your eyes look natural. I also use this to go under my brows to frame or carve them out and it gives them a well needed structure. The Real Techniques Miracle Sponge is a stonking good dupe for the Beauty Blender. Mine is a little battered as you can see from the picture, as my two year old son thought it was a teething toy!. The material is obviously a little different but it really holds its own for only £6.99. If you want to get back into sponges (which I recommend you do) then give this one ago first to see how you like the finish it gives.

My Eighth and Ninth Beauty Staple is Real Techniques Setting Brush and Bold Metal Range 100. The setting brush is just the right size to set your under eye make up or to place highlighter on the cheek bones. For me I have to have this with me for touching up on the go. The Bold Metals brush is a luxurious treat. It’s a soft, plumped brush that is weighted to give you more control over the brush. I use this to buff my foundation in and to add blusher or bronzer. Gorgeous brush.

So there are my Beauty Staples for 2015. These items are firmly in my make-up bag and I just think they all have so many uses.
What has been your beauty favourites for 2015? Are there any you think I should try? I would love to know, please leave your comments below. Also don’t forget to keep up with all my goings on, on all my social media.
